***2009 Tucson Firefighters Chili Cook-off Details***
This year the TUCSON FIREFIGHTERS CHILI COOK-OFF will be on November 6th, 2009. We have the chili cook-off on Fridays to catch the downtown lunch crowd. Once again, we will be at El Presido Park, which is right next to City Hall. The chili cook-off will run from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm. There will be 32 booths, serving chili, chili dogs, nachos and our world famous quesadillas. Firefighters from all over Pima County will join us for bragging rights to the best chili. We will also be judging the best decorated booth and the team spirt award. Two beer booths will be available along with two coke trailers. Tickets are $1.00 each for chili and soda. More than 1000 gallons of chili will be cooked for this event. There are 34 booths in friendly competition each bringing at least 30 gallons of chili to the event. There will be a wide variety of chili from spicy hot to veggie. The chili is $1.00 a cup and all proceeds will benefit the Tucson Firefighters Adopt-A-Family Program, which assists needy families and children with clothing, food, basic necessities and toys throughout the holiday season.

If you don’t like chili, no problem, there will be roasted corn, hot dogs, and plenty of other things to eat.

Last year more than $52,000 were raised for needy Tucson families at this event. It would be great to raise even more at this year’s cook-off.

Anybody in your family want to be a firefighter? This is the place to meet those idols, see the equipment up close and get to talk to real firefighters. Lots of information, lots of fun, lots of chili are in store for all those attending this great event.

Come out, bring your appetite and your camera. The Tucson Firefighters Chili Cook-Off promises to be a great event for a great cause.
